pickup point
I bought a book and chose the post restante at the pickup point near my home. The seller shipped it with Posta.
I received the automatic message, but there is no trace of my package at the pickup point.
I should mention that I know both the owners of the pickup point and the seller, all honest and excellent people.
Can the post office afford to mark a delivery that never took place? Is it possible that they always have to be right, no matter what?
Has this happened to anyone else, a similar case?

could you kindly specify what kind of "Posta" you sent it with: registered mail? Posta 1? Posta 4?
In any case, it is clearly stated that registered mail cannot be used for pickup points, since if you are absent they cannot collect it because a proxy would be required.

It was sent by posta 1; it is not registered mail but simply a book parcel. The pickup point is a tobacco shop and bar open 7 days a week from 8 in the morning until 8 in the evening.

Mentore3 years agoThank you... but you need to be even more specific... Posta 1 and book mail are two very different things, Posta 1 has delivery confirmation, while book mail has no tracking at all.
So ask the seller what it was sent with, if it was Posta 1 get the tracking number and check it on the Poste Italiane website, if instead it was book mail, you can open a report for an item not received:

OP3 years agoThe seller shipped it with Posta 1
to a Fermopoint location. I received an SMS saying the item had arrived, I went to the pickup point but the item isn't there.
In the tracking, it says delivered.
I also tried to contact Fermopoint, but the site is blocked, it won't let me submit the contact form.
I reiterate that I have no doubts about the owner of the Fermopoint, as they are someone I know
I also have very serious doubts about the working method of Poste Italiane.

OP3 years agoExactly............ 😞 At this point the only solution for me is..........to buy only in physical stores and nothing else on the internet from any site.

Mentore3 years agoAnother solution could be to choose sellers who ship only with well-known couriers, even though of course that doesn't completely solve the problem, but at least you have some greater certainty.
