Has anyone else been scammed when buying adult diapers???
Summary: The discussion concerns experiences of buying diapers, with a focus on cases of fraud that some participants may have experienced. Despite the sensitive topic, the dialogue seems to lack specific details, remaining rather general around the proposed subject.
Recently, a seller from whom I had bought several times cheated me by sending me only one package instead of the 4 I paid for. He apologized for the mistake, assuring me that he would send everything the next day. Generous too, because I could have kept that single package that arrived, in addition to the 4 on the way.
In good faith, I waited in vain. And he disappeared. Store closed, PayPal account closed, no reply.
I saw from the latest reviews that he pulled this trick on many people. Obviously he knew he was going to shut everything down and so, after years of activity and thousands of items sold, he cheated a huge number of people in the same way, even long-time customers.
Now, I can see that a new store has opened, different name but same items and same way of replying to messages (poor punctuation, way of greeting, etc). Also, from the address on the delivery slip for that single package, I can see that the location is the same as the one registered to the new store, which, coincidentally, opened last March 25.
I wanted in some way to warn everyone who got cheated that it’s the same people behind this store. Obviously now they won’t compromise the name of the new store and won’t scam anyone, but it’s right that people know who they are.
I called eBay but they say to make a report on the site, but there’s no option for "I suspect it’s a scammer!"

Mentore1 year agoThe thing you should have done right away was open a return process, for an order received that was not as described because of missing parts.
You could have returned what you received at the seller’s expense and been fully refunded. Or you could have received a partial refund for the missing part.

If 30 days haven’t passed since delivery, you can still open it, even if the shop shows as closed.

OP1 year agoThanks for the reply, the little scammer told all the people he ripped off the same thing: "you can keep that single package and I'll send you the 4 missing packages anyway", so nobody filed a claim.
The problem is that besides the eBay store, by now he’ll have closed his PayPal account too, so eBay will never be able to force him to refund it. And I and others risk paying for a claim that would never be refunded.
Rather, how can I ask eBay to investigate this new store opened on the days when the scammer’s store was closed, which is 99% the same people? Thanks

Mentore1 year agoHow to ask eBay to investigate you, I already wrote to you.

I also already told you that the return shipping is the seller's responsibility; if he doesn't take care of it, eBay exempts you from the return and the refund is made directly by eBay, which then has no problem recovering it from the seller, even if he has closed all his accounts.

OP1 year agoThanks for the reply, if you mean that I can report the old seller, I’ve already done that as far as the scam sale is concerned. If instead you mean that I can report the “new” seller to have them “investigated” there isn’t an option in the menu (the choices are inappropriate items, threatening language etc.)

Mentore1 year agoHonestly, regarding the new seller, I’d avoid making reports; without solid proof, you could end up with slander.

OP1 year agoIn fact, it's not me who should accuse, since I don't have the means to investigate. eBay should do it, it's quite easy for them. If they talk so much about buyer protection! A user should be able to report a suspicion, then eBay should make the accusations after an investigation.
