Good morning everyone, I made a return and the shipping for that return was arranged by the seller, who sent me a GLS courier. Now the seller is on vacation and isn’t replying to the messages I send him, and even though eBay has recognized a full refund, since I had PayPal handle the case, after about 21 days of review PayPal tells me that I should have shipped the package myself to the seller’s address because it turns out that the package destination is different from the seller. How can I handle this case without losing money and the returned item, considering that I requested the shipping document from GLS but it doesn’t seem to be enough? Thanks for the help. Salvatore

OP2 years agoThe courier left me a copy of the waybill, but the recipient is ambiguous in the sense that it says a destination that is not self-certifying and can’t easily be linked to the seller. Maybe I shouldn’t have given him the package, but I did because I trusted what the Ebay operator had told me. Another Ebay operator had also told me that even if I hadn’t sent it, they would have refunded me, but in the end, once paypal took over, that wasn’t the case. So the mistake was putting everything in paypal’s hands, but I couldn’t have known, and the only thing to do is hope for an honest seller, which unfortunately I don’t think I’m starting from a neutral position on, or I should hope that paypal accepts my documentation.

OP2 years agoThanks for the reply, obviously no, it’s not possible to open two cases, in fact the one on Ebay has been closed. But anyway Ebay could check the messages I send to the seller, who is a "PRO" and keeps refusing to reply. How should such behavior be judged, despite my endless messages, always and in any case very professional and polite? Let me explain better: a professional seller with 99% positive feedback, since he created the return label himself along with messages on the Ebay platform and the Ebay operator reassured me that I should send it by justifying the pickup as a usual procedure even without a label with a tracking code, despite the fact that I asked him for it countless times, shouldn’t he intervene in some way even though I opened a dispute on Paypal? Shouldn’t he monitor such fraudulent behavior on the part of sellers, which I also reported and pointed out several times?

Mentore2 years agoUnfortunately, by opening the PayPal procedure, you’ve taken away from eBay any room to maneuver.
On eBay, the return is paid by the seller or the buyer (depending on the reason for the return), and returns with a courier arranged by the seller are allowed, whereas under the PayPal procedure the return is always paid by the buyer and must be sent to the address provided by PayPal.
What’s puzzling is that the courier should always leave the sender a copy of the waybill (even when it’s arranged by the recipient), where the tracking code is indicated.

Mentore2 years agoObviously it’s never possible to open two return and refund procedures; opening the one on PayPal closes the eBay procedure.
Unfortunately, the procedure on PayPal is different from the one on eBay (it’s definitely more complicated and expensive for the buyer) and it’s always advisable to open it only if the one on eBay fails.
I’m afraid your only hope is to rely on the seller’s honesty, that they refund you voluntarily after the PayPal dispute is closed. I hope some other user has a different solution.
