Return or repair of a product that breaks after 6 months, with a 2-year warranty

Hi everyone, I’m writing because I need help and neither eBay nor the seller can find a solution.
I bought an electronic device in February 2025, with a 2-year warranty on the product.
After just 6 months the product started not working as it should, the power button and another button with a key function no longer respond to commands.
I contacted the seller, who gave me a WhatsApp number to communicate and try to solve the problem, sending me the device’s instruction manual, which I already had, and telling me to look for something that referred to the word “lock”.
Considering the useless assistance I received from the seller, since the product has a 2-year warranty, I repeatedly requested that the device be replaced, or that it be repaired by the seller himself. After proposing these two, I think legitimate, solutions, the seller stopped responding.
All the replies I received on the eBay chat are “non-replies,” meaning they dance around the problem but the only conclusion seems to be that I should “cry over” a malfunctioning product sold with a warranty.
What can I do? Is there an eBay phone number to speak directly with eBay support and not with the seller?
help!!

Mentore1 year agoTalking to ebay would have no effect. The 24-month legal warranty is an obligation for all professional sellers with a registered office in an EU country, but they are directly responsible for it.
You would never go to the management of a shopping center about a warranty issue with one of the stores that the center rents space to.
Check the seller's registered office carefully; if you're sure they're based in the EU, you can try opening a report for unfair commercial practices ...... https://www.agcm.it/servizi/segnala-on-line
