Refund closed by eBay before the item was shipped
Summary: *ele*-70 started a discussion on eBay about a return issue that was closed before the item was shipped. marioelegio took part in the conversation, but the details of their exchange were not mentioned in the provided text.
Ebay closed a return before the return deadline expired.
I bought a product on 05/08/25 and received it on 06/08/25, but it turned out to be non-compliant (wrong size); the seller accepted the return but did not send the return procedure and label.
I wrote immediately because I was about to leave for vacation and the seller told me I had until 06/09. I’m trying to contact the seller with messages to make the return, but they are not responding.
How can I get ebay involved?
Thanks

Mentore1 year agoEverything was done properly.
You have 30 days to request a return, but you must ship it within 10 days from the moment your request is accepted.
As the seller had told you, you had 30 days to request the return.
If it was closed, it means you opened the return request within the 30 days available to you.
The return was accepted and the return procedure is the standard eBay one with the label at your expense.
To get the label, you just had to continue the procedure you used to open the return request .... https://pages.ebay.it/acquistare/restituzioni/
However, from the moment you opened it, you had 10 days to ship the return and, since you did not ship the return, the case was closed.

OP1 year agoThanks for the feedback.
Just one clarification:
If the seller accepted the return and was supposed to send me the label (which they did not do), why was I the one who had to request the coupon?
I’m including the message received from Ebay

Mentore1 year agoProbably because you also chose the wrong return reason. There are laws that establish, depending on the case, who has to pay the return shipping costs.
For a size exchange, the label is the buyer's responsibility.
In any case, the mistake of not shipping within the allowed time remains.
If the return had actually been the seller's responsibility and if you had followed eBay's instructions, in the absence of the label you should have asked eBay to step in ... https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/returns-items-not-received-refunds-buyers/chiedi-ebay-di-intervenire-acquirenti?id=4701&st=3&pos=1&query=Chiedi%20a%20eBay%20di%20intervenire%20-%20acquirenti&intent=chiedi%20ad%20ebay&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1382
Now it's too late for all eBay procedures and you can only try to work things out directly with the seller.

OP1 year agoI've never had anything like this happen to me...... Anyway, the reason for the return is correct, the seller sent me the wrong size... I'm trying to contact them through eBay messages but they're not responding.
Next time I'll be more careful with the procedures.

Mentore1 year agoIf the error was the seller's, it wasn't an exchange of size, but a return for an item not as described.
The return shipping costs were to be paid by the seller, and, if there was no label, you should have asked eBay to intervene.
