Case closed and appeal denied
Summary: The discussion concerns the topic of "closed return and appeal denied," with repeated responses between eficade0 and marioelegio. However, the specific content is not provided.
Good evening,
last month I made a return from Italy to the UK, I prepared the package and shipped the item, now the package has been held in customs for 15 days because of problems with the export documents, which had been lost. After contacting the delivery carrier, we resolved it and the package has been sent on to the recipient.
Ebay has closed my refund and does not allow me to appeal or submit the documents with which I can show that the package was shipped on the correct date and that the (estimated) delivery date was well before the 30-day refund period.
So according to them, I as the buyer have to lose 410.00 for an item I returned, and the seller will also get €40 more for international shipping for an item that will not be refunded to me, that seems crazy to me.... we buyers have no protection at all while if sellers are late with shipments we can only wait in silence?

OP1 year agoI get it, but if I go read eBay's rules it says, I quote the exact words, " You must send the item back within 10 working days, choosing a tracked shipment with a code." It doesn't refer to how long the journey takes, only to shipping within the 10 days, which did happen, complete with a tracker certifying the dispatch.
Now the seller can do as he prefers and deny me the refund, but once the parcel reaches him and he accepts it, he should also be required to refund me; otherwise he could have simply refused it and it would have come back to me.
As for eBay support, if you read their site https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/returns-refunds/restituisci-un-oggetto-cambio-di-un-rimborso?id=4041
under the item returns section I have fulfilled all my duties and I don't understand how it is possible for them to tell me that it was closed because the shipment took longer than a certain amount of time when their own rules say only that the return must be made within 10 days.
Then of course they decide, what do they care if a user loses €450 and a seller ends up with €410 more in their account.

Mentore1 year agoThere has to be a deadline beyond which the package must be considered lost. You can’t wait forever for the goods to arrive.
This applies both to shipping from the seller to the buyer and to returns in the opposite direction.
There are these additional considerations:
I’m sorry,
bye

OP1 year agoThanks Mario,
the seller doesn't respond and support now replies with the standard message "thank you for contacting us and we're sorry but the package does not appear to have been delivered" basically they're stuck 2 months ago, they don't even waste 2 seconds clicking the tracking link again.
I'll open a ticket on PayPal and I'm sure I'll resolve it that way.

Mentore1 year agoThe seller can still refund you, if they want.
You yourself wrote that the package was held in customs for 15 days because the customs documentation had been lost and this is the sender's responsibility.
In these cases the buyer can also request a refund.
