Refund closed, seller disappeared
Hello everyone,
I have a serious problem with a purchase I made.
Of the 4 shock absorbers, which were advertised as new, but in reality are refurbished, 3 arrived working, one arrived broken during shipping.
I opened the return process, also paying the shipping costs for the replacement part, and naively closed the return process when the seller sent me the tracking information.
Now, however, the seller has sent me the wrong part (another right front one, when I needed the left one), I tried to reopen the dispute, but eBay washes its hands of it saying that the process has been closed and cannot be reopened, and the seller has disappeared.
Now I've spent more than 1000 euros, and I still can't install the shock absorbers on the car.
I can't even get a phone number for the seller, or an address to give to the lawyer because eBay locks everything down with messaging.
On top of the damage, the insult: I had left negative feedback for the seller but eBay removed it, no one knows how (congrats on the seriousness toward the community).
Can you give me some advice on how to get out of this situation?
Thanks in advance.
Carlo

Mentore3 years agoGood morning,
if you paid with Paypal, you can try opening a dispute directly on their site; if you paid by card, you can get help from your bank for a chargeback.
Kind regards.
