returning an item
Good evening, I accepted, on eBay's advice, the return of an item, even though I had tested it and documented its functioning. It was returned to me with the warranty seal missing, under which there is a screw for disassembling the device. eBay is telling me that I MUST refund it anyway. So if a brick or a smashed-up item had been delivered to me, would I have had to give the money back? Of course I have photos of the intact seal with the buyer's name. Thank you

OP3 years agops: the two Ebay operators I contacted asked me to ask the buyer whether it was him who removed the seal......to try to make him CONFESS!

Mentore3 years agoIndeed, without a written "confession" it's just your word against theirs.
In cases of these doubts about distance selling, the buyer is given the benefit of the doubt.
