Returning an item purchased in an Asian country

I bought a helmet that I later discovered was not approved for Italy because it most likely came from China. I asked for a return, and the seller first offered to let me keep the item and refund me 100 euros, but I want a full refund. He therefore sent me the shipping address but not a return label and asked me for my PayPal address for the refund. Since there is no official return label, can I trust sending back the item? Does it work like this, or is the seller obliged to provide a return label?

Mentore1 year agoIn distance sales, the transaction is considered to take place in the country where the seller is legally based. The buyer must then, if necessary, import the item and make sure it complies with EU regulations.
So this is not a non-compliance issue; you bought the item in a non-European country and it was certainly compliant with local regulations there. If the seller accepts the return, they accept it because you changed your mind, and so you have to cover the return shipping costs yourself. Use the eBay procedure and enter the return tracking code.

Mentore1 year agoIf you requested a return for a non-conforming item, the return label is the seller’s responsibility.
If you indicated another reason, the shipping may be your responsibility.
