Refund for item not matching the description
Buyer bought a camera on August 5, after 20 days they ask for a return saying that some settings don’t work ( impossible) . My listing was non-returnable. What can I do, eBay only gives me the choices I’ve attached in the photo. Who pays for the return? How can I protect myself at least from getting the item back, assuming they haven’t damaged it in these 20 days?

Mentore2 years agoIf the reason for the return is non-compliance, there's not much you can do; there are laws protecting consumers.
To get your item back, you need to accept the return at your own expense within the time you have available.

OP2 years agoquestion: if I had sold with the formula "returns accepted, shipping costs borne by the buyer", at least now would I have spared myself the insult of having to pay the return shipping costs? Or, by disputing the discrepancy from the description, could the buyer have asked that I pay the costs anyway?

Mentore2 years agoThe formula you’re referring to applies only in the event of a change of mind on the buyer’s part and can only be selected by private sellers.
In the event of non-conformity, return policies are governed by a law that places all costs on the seller.

OP2 years agoOk, I accepted the return and gave the buyer a label to ship the item back to me. Can you tell me how long they have to return it?

Mentore2 years agoSend the item back
When your return request is approved, we'll send you an email to Messages - opens in a new window or tab asking you to send the item back. Make sure you ship the return by the date shown in this email to avoid delays or issues in the refund process.

Return the item
When the seller accepts your return, you’ll receive an email in the Messages section asking you to return the item. You must send the item back within 10 business days, using a trackable shipping service with a tracking code. Adding the tracking code details to the return helps protect you in case of delays or problems in the refund process. If you use the eBay return label center, the tracking code details are uploaded automatically. If you’re using your own return shipping label, add the tracking code details to the return manually. Return shipping costs will be paid by the buyer or the seller, depending on the reason you want to return the item. Find more information about return shipping costs.
