Purchase receipt (receipt or invoice)
Summary: The discussion concerns the issue of choosing between a purchase receipt, receipt, or invoice. The participants, nicolino99 and marioelegio, briefly discuss it without specific details on the advantages or disadvantages of each option.
Hello,
recently I made some purchases on ebay from professional sellers (and therefore with VAT number) and in only one case with the shipment did I receive a fiscal receipt. All the other sellers did not provide me with either a receipt or an invoice, even though I had requested it in the order notes.
I tried to contact them, one replied to me, another told me to download the ebay order summary and the last one said that he "would take care of it" (but as of today, still nothing).
I would like to ask whether professional sellers are obliged to provide a LEGALLY VALID proof of purchase and, if so, how can I assert my rights?
Among other things, it seems to me to be an unfair practice toward those who act legally and correctly pay VAT, since this way they have the possibility of offering more competitive prices unlike others.
I am also considering filing a report with the Guardia di Finanza, but I would first like an opinion.
Thank you all!

OP11 months agoTo date, the seller continues to refuse to issue a tax receipt and keeps insisting that "the order summary for your purchase and the total paid are what count", but this is at odds with the tax agency's regulations regarding online sales.
Honestly, I am annoyed by this seller's improper behavior.
I opened a complaint with eBay regarding the purchase, but the dispute was resolved with a simple "return and refund", with no action taken against the seller. Is there a way to make further reports to the platform?
Can I file an online report with the Agenzia delle Entrate or the Guardia di Finanza?
I don't have time to go to the office for minor matters (that will probably be ignored anyway), but I would still like to do my duty as a citizen.

Mentore1 year agoFor online sales there is no obligation to issue a fiscal receipt. The sale and payment are tracked, so professional sellers only need to record it in the register of receipts.
Only if you requested an invoice, providing all the necessary details to issue it, is the seller obliged to provide it to you. If they do not do so, with the request message, you are right to report it to the GdF.

OP1 year agoI wonder if, given this total indifference and not giving a damn about issuing a purchase receipt, they aren’t finding some tricks to avoid paying taxes (maybe not on all sales but on part of them).. otherwise what would be the point of ignoring the request?

Mentore1 year agoFor sales made on platforms, it's hard not to pay taxes. Platforms are required to report sellers' data and their sales volumes once fairly low thresholds are exceeded.
