Received counterfeit item: does eBay only allow returns?

Good morning,

I bought an item that I verified to be 100% counterfeit (I have the Apple Store “certificate” that says so).

Purchased through PayPal, I tell the seller, who calmly sends me a return label so I can send it back and get a refund.

Now, though, I’ve read that by law I’m required to take it to the Guardia di Finanza, but aside from the return, eBay doesn’t offer me any other options.

What do I do?

remember that both selling and buying counterfeit items is a crime!

So you decide what’s best to do.

but I wasn’t clear.

I bought it at a reasonable price; I was simply scammed.

Ebay doesn’t seem to have a procedure for this, I don’t know what to do because I’m afraid that if I don’t ship the package, it will be seized, and then I’ll also be penalized without a refund because I won’t be able to return the item.
