Received a return request for a non-conforming item
Good morning,
first problem I’ve had on beay in twenty years... sooner or later it had to happen.
I sold a parcel abroad and received a return request for item not as described: I sold a Steam Deck and they’re claiming that the package contained a charger, case and cat food.
The account that made the purchase was created 4 days before the auction, 0 feedback. They didn’t show up to receive the delivery and rescheduled with UPS, stating in the messages they sent me that they weren’t home and that they would change the street number so a neighbor could pick it up. Now my only options are: accept a return and send a shipping label, full or partial refund, no immediate dispute.
How can I get out of this and not get scammed? I imagine the courier won’t be able to confirm the contents of the package, they’ll only say it was delivered. Over the phone, eBay only suggested I do a return or a refund and open a dispute afterward, but they already made it clear that the seller is left to their own devices.

Mentore1 year agoArrange the return at your own expense and within the time frame set by eBay, otherwise you’ll lose money and the item.
