buyer’s request to cancel an order after it has been shipped and notified as shipped
Good evening and Happy Ferragosto, in a transaction I had it happen that shortly after shipping the item, the buyer asked me to cancel the transaction; unfortunately, I had already handed the package over to the courier, so I wasn’t able to get it back. The previous evening I had purchased the shipping through Ebay shipping, so the shipping notification was definitely sent to the buyer. In any case, I told them I was willing to take the item back, refunding everything except the shipping costs. In cases like this, how does feedback work? Could the buyer still leave negative or neutral feedback if, for example, in the end the item wasn’t returned because of their choice or even because of my choice, since as a private seller I wouldn’t be obliged to accept the request? Thanks for the answer.

OP2 years agoThanks for the reply, I should say right away that it’s not my intention not to meet the requests that are being made of me, but knowing your rights is still important, and I’m referring to the changes that eBay is making for order cancellations (all of this will be active from August 28); I seem to have understood that if the private seller has correctly marked the item as shipped and has used a tracked shipping method, they have fulfilled their obligations, so any negative or neutral feedback would be removed: I don’t know if anyone knows anything about this. Mentore2 years agoThe seller's obligations do not end with the delivery of the goods…..
He could quite easily give you an unwarranted negative or open a dispute over the conformity of the goods.
For this reason, when possible, it's always better to meet the buyer's requests halfway. It's up to you whether to lose out on the shipping cost and offer him the right to change his mind so he can return the item at his own expense.

Mentore2 years agoYou have the problem now... these new changes will be in force from 28 August... I'd say you absolutely should not take them into account.
