I sold an item that was practically new to a buyer from Portugal. I had bought the item on Amazon and it is still under warranty. I spent €30 on shipping to the buyer; I had asked for €20. The item arrives on January 20, 2025, everything seems fine, and I even receive positive feedback. On February 28, the buyer forwards me a return request claiming a malfunction. After more than a month of use, he expects to send me back something that maybe he himself broke! I explain to this gentleman that I can't accept a return that would cost me €30 just for the return label, but that if he wanted, I would send him the purchase invoice and he could request repair himself through the manufacturer's website. That seemed like the simplest thing to me, but I get no response. I refuse the return, which is now shown as closed. And that's probably where it will end. What I find absurd is having a month to report any defects. Someone could buy a €3000 camera, use it for a month, and then claim it has defects and would even be considered right. The seller would have no choice but to accept the return and refund the buyer. I think there should be protection for buyers and also for sellers. Unfortunately, right now eBay is skewed in favor of buyers. If things don't change, I'll sell my items somewhere else.
