Request for information on price increase of the product sold and postage costs
Good evening, I am a new user and I’m still not familiar with the procedures, so I would like to ask if anyone knows the reason why: I am reporting what the buyer wrote: "Hello I pressed the button
" Pay now " and instead of a total of 18.00 Euro I am being asked for: Euro 15.13 + 6.83 shipping
Obviously I did not proceed with the payment
Awaiting a solution
Kind regards
Obviously he is right as there is 3.96 € more than the sale amount that we both see... who is making a mistake and/or trying to profit?
Thanks for any clarification.

Mentore2 years agoThe problem is the extraterritorial areas on the shores of Lake Lugano. Some parts of the territories with ZIP codes 21050, 22010 and 22018 fall within this free zone.
Unfortunately, eBay does not distinguish between the many municipalities that fall within these ZIP codes, some of them also far from the border.

Mentore2 years agoGood evening,
no one is ripping anyone off, you're simply registered in an Italian municipality where eBay adds VAT.
Check with support for the reason.
Kind regards.

OP2 years agoSorry, could you kindly tell me why there are municipalities subject to VAT? Aren't we all in Italy? 😁

Mentore2 years agoProbably the ones near the Swiss border.

OP2 years agoSorry to bother you again, as I said above, I found out that eBay is making a profit off this and that various postal codes that are very much Italian are being improperly subjected to VAT, which they do not pay since it is not due because it is Italian territory and not outside the EU as they say; therefore everyone who buys from these postal codes is forced to pay VAT that eBay arbitrarily pockets.

Mentore2 years agoWhat proof do you have that ebay is cashing in on it?
What proof do you have that ebay then doesn’t pay the VAT to the proper authority?
You report that the item is located in Cusino, but we cannot know what your registered postal code is... so we cannot have any information to respond to your "theories"...
Kind regards.

OP2 years agoconfirmed that postal code 22010 is very much Italian territory and that VAT
withholding between private sellers is not предусмотрed, and given the numerous reports read
on the forum... if one thing leads to another, VAT isn't really planned at all. Then maybe
we're all wrong, but the fact is that I haven't found any direct
reply from eBay to the numerous complaints from buyers and sellers living in
postal codes 22010 - 22018 and others. Reiterating that these are very Italian territories and not
extra.
Best regards

Mentore2 years agoYour postal code is included in the list of territories excluded within the EU countries, which are therefore considered non-EU: Italian waters of Lake Lugano: 21050, 22010, 22018 *The Italian waters postal codes of Lake Lugano correspond to the locations on the lake in Italy such as: Oria Valsolda, San Mamete, Porlezza, Brusimpiano, Porto Ceresio... etc...
Since postal code 22010 is very broad and therefore also includes the one written above, eBay cannot make distinctions.
Kind regards.
