payment request after three years!!!!!!

today I received a very strange email,

I'm xxxxxxx, on May 10, 2020 you bought my xxxxx through eBay.
I'm writing because today I realize that I never received the payment.
This is the explanation: On May 10, 2020 I receive an email from PayPal with confirmation of the payment of xxxx euros. The email says that in order to receive the money I need to confirm the email. I didn't confirm the email in time and PayPal, according to policy, sent the payment back after 30 days of suspension. This was confirmed to me by phone by PayPal customer support.
In short, I find myself in the awkward position of having to ask you for payment for the computer three years later. If you need any other confirmation, you can contact PayPal, who will confirm that the payment was never sent successfully. If you haven't used PayPal anymore, it may be that the money is still showing in your balance. We can always get in touch if you want clarification.

I contacted Paypal support, they confirmed that the payment was made but was later canceled and the amount credited back to my account
so I decided to give them the money back
it’s strange after three years, but it seemed like the right thing to do, at least I got confirmation from paypal that it wasn’t a scam

Mentore2 years agoSo if you received the item correctly without any payment confirmation (you yourself wrote that it was sent back!), you can in any case be reported for embezzlement... even if three years have passed.
So it’s up to you.
