Return request
(return request)
Hello everyone, today I received my first return request for an item not as described or shown in the photos.
The item in question is a watch, a Philip Watch from the 1980s, perfectly working at the time of shipping and sold as water resistant 20 ATM (200 meters).
Two days after delivery, the buyer, without even writing to me, opens a return request for item not as described or shown in the photos and comments "the watch is not water resistant" and attaches two photos of the watch with condensation on the crystal.
The photos in the listing show the case back with the words Water resistant 20 ATM, furthermore the water resistance is also confirmed by the watch's technical sheet.
How should I behave in this case? Do I have to accept the return of a watch that is surely no longer working now either?
Thanks everyone in advance

Mentore2 years agoIf you don’t want to receive defects and therefore probable limitations, yes... and you also have to arrange the pickup at your own expense, or you’ll lose the money and the item.
Kind regards.

OP2 years agohi Sika700 and thanks for the reply, I’m asking you, can I rely on the fact that the buyer stated the reason for the return as “the watch is not water resistant”?
the watch is water resistant, I don’t want to lose 200 euros worth of watch plus any possible return shipping costs

Mentore2 years agoHi,
the reason why the buyer opened a return request matters very little.
What matters is that it is for "item not as described" and as such you have very slim chances of winning if you contest it, which is why it is always better to assess the least possible damage for yourself.
If in any case it is simply a pretextual request, from experience I have noticed that if you provide the return label but he doesn't ship and lets the technical time limit expire, you end up being in the right.
Best regards.
