Return request from a buyer
Good evening. Here’s the situation. A buyer purchased a badge, and the description had the correct measurements. The listing clearly states RETURNS NOT ACCEPTED. Now they’re asking for a return because it’s small compared to the use they needed it for. I should point out that:
1. I had also accepted a discount,
2. The buyer didn’t ask for any information before buying
3. I sent them a message two days ago saying that, at most, I would accept the return, but at their expense, and they haven’t replied.
So how does eBay behave if I don’t close it within the indicated time limit? And what if I refuse the refund? Thanks to whoever can help me

Mentore2 years agoGood evening,
it depends on the reason why they opened the return request for you.
If they indicated the item as not as described, you are obliged to handle it and therefore provide a return label and then refund it; if you let the deadlines expire, you will lose money and the item.
If, on the other hand, the reason is due to a change of mind, you can calmly refuse.
In any case, the sale of new items by a private seller is considered unusual activity.
Kind regards.

OP2 years agoThe refund request was due to a change of mind. In the end I refunded everything because the amount was low and I didn't want to ruin my feedback. In this way I ended up losing the shipping costs. However, I still believe it would have been within my rights not to refund. But I feared that eBay's system would not protect me. The item was used anyway.
Thank you very much for the reply.

Mentore2 years agoIf the buyer had opened the proper procedure on eBay, he would have had the obligation to ship at his own expense and track the return shipment; if he did not do so, after 21 days the request would have closed in your favor without worrying about the feedback.
Kind regards.
