Return request for “missing items”
Summary: A participant opened a discussion regarding a refund request for "missing pieces". No further details were provided in the original post.
I need help. I sold a sealed box of collectible cards (booster box). After the package was delivered, I contacted the buyer to ask if everything was okay. He immediately started attacking me, claiming that the box contained only opened packs and polyester (and he attached photos). I replied that, as he himself confirmed, the box seemed 100% legitimate. I also asked him whether he had recorded a video of opening the package, and he replied 'obviously NO'.
On my side, I have the photos the original seller had sent me, as well as a video in which I prepare the package (including the weighing process) before shipping it. In my video I show not only the packing process, but also a detailed close-up of the box and its factory seal, even highlighting a small defect that proves it is exactly the same box I had bought about 15 days earlier.
Now the buyer has opened a return request. I do not accept returns on my profile (but I know that if a request is made for “missing parts” it can still be done), but eBay tells me I have to resolve the issue by June 5, otherwise the buyer can ask eBay to step in. The resolution screen only offers me two options: 'accept the return' or 'offer a full or partial refund'. Neither of these options works for me, because who guarantees me that he isn't scamming me?
So I asked to be called by Ebay support through the button, and they promptly called me and the lady told me to wait and not click anything because in 3 days Ebay will ask the buyer to file a report and if he does not do so he will not have the possibility to ask for a return or a refund. I also asked whether I should have clicked the button “ask Ebay to step in - sellers” and she told me no
Thanks in advance for the help
