Refund request
Summary: aftal sold an item in China four months ago, and the package got stuck during shipping two months ago. Recently, the buyer requested a refund through PayPal, but aftal replied that they should open an eBay dispute for non-receipt, relying on seller protection. They’re looking for advice on how to handle the situation.
Hello,
I sold an item in China 4 months ago. Tracking was provided, and from checking the post office website the package stopped halfway there two months ago.
Today the buyer writes to me asking for a refund privately through PayPal.
I explained that he should have made a claim for non-receipt directly to eBay because I believe that as the seller I am covered by the "seller protection" but he insists
on getting a refund. He woke up a bit late, I think, but I'm asking you what I should do, how I should handle it.
Thanks

Mentore1 week agoI think that on eBay he can’t do anything else.
But if he paid with a card or with PayPal, it’s very likely to expect a chargeback or a dispute.
