Received empty package
Summary: buon-luca started a discussion about a package received empty. marioelegio and cizeta1964 participated, with further interactions between buon-luca and cizeta1964 to try to resolve the issue.
Hello, I received an empty package. I opened a dispute on eBay, and at the same time on PayPal (because I had paid with PayPal). PayPal ruled in the seller’s favor based on the fact that tracking showed the package as delivered, but I am not disputing the delivery, I am disputing the fact that there was no item in the package. Having opened the appeal with PayPal, the one with eBay closed without even reaching a decision; unfortunately I didn’t know that, otherwise I would have waited for eBay’s decision before opening the appeal with PayPal. Is it possible that there is no way to protect yourself if you receive an empty package? I don’t want to accuse the seller, I am convinced the problem arose during transport, but it seems strange to me that there isn’t at least some protection for the buyer. Some time ago, on another famous online sales site, something similar happened to me, and the item was immediately resent to me and the seller also told me not to worry because it was insured anyway. Thanks for your help

Of course there is, but if you follow the wrong procedure (first eBay and then PayPal, but PayPal only as a second step) and also the wrong reason for the return (you received the item but it’s not as described), the problem isn’t eBay, it’s you.

Mentore9 months agoYou can still try, as Mario suggested, contact PayPal and insist that they help you.

Try checking on PayPal whether it’s now possible to open a second refund request for item not as described. Contact their customer support.
