Hello everyone, I have the following problem: at the end of April I placed a pre-order for a product due out in December. However, the product still hasn't arrived, I've tried contacting the seller but they don't respond. I tried to ask ebay directly for help, but when I select the refund process it only lets me select purchases from the last 90 days (and so it doesn't let me select the item purchased at the end of April). How can I proceed to receive the refund? Thanks a lot for your help

Maybe, the only path left, is a chargeback on your card with the help of your bank.

So you're telling me that, in general, if I buy something on pre-order I have no kind of guarantee from eBay (obviously in the case of pre-orders that exceed those 90 days, which is the time limit for the refund).

Mentore1 year agoPre-orders are governed by clear rules... the seller must guarantee delivery within 40 days from purchase.

eBay customer guarantee covers the following 30 days... not 90!

OP1 year agoThanks again. However, I still don't understand a few things: if the pre-sale period lasts up to 40 days and eBay's warranty period lasts 30 days from purchase, there is still a gap in coverage, so (potentially they could scam you infinite times with this trick and for eBay, as the rules are written, everything would be fine)
The second thing is that I could therefore report the seller for putting up the pre-sale listing for this item too early (it's a store that, apparently, makes a profit from this pre-sale thing, putting up pre-orders months and months in advance).

Mentore1 year agoeBay Buyer Protection starts from the latest delivery date, so if the seller follows the rules carefully, they must deliver it to you within 40 days of the sale and must clearly state the shipping date in the listing.
If this information is missing, you will not be covered by the guarantee.
