half refund passed off as an accounting operation - basically fraud
Summary: resarel_ujkpgjfff shared a negative experience with a seller on eBay, reporting that after returning a broken and unusable replacement part, the refund received was cut in half on the grounds that the item had supposedly not been returned in its original condition. However, this had not been mentioned by the seller during the return process. Other customers have reported similar experiences in reviews, indicating repeated behavior by the seller.
For now I’m leaving everything anonymous, because the case isn’t closed yet, but since it irritated me with the feeling of having been scammed, I’m describing it here in the community,
I bought a replacement part, I was sent a broken and unusable part, I returned it but the seller turned the refund into a dispute for half of the amount actually paid. Ebay refunded immediately, but in the refund email it wrote that
"The seller deducted an amount from the item price because it was not returned in its original condition. etc"
Something the seller, contacted by phone, NEVER claimed during the handling of the return process.
I made my complaints to the seller via eBay internal message, but I saw in some reviews that others complain about the same treatment, and this proves that the seller is a repeat offender.

Mentore3 days agoYou must have used the wrong procedure or the wrong return reason.
The deduction from the refund can only be made in the case of returns due to the buyer changing their mind; the seller justifies the reduction because the item was sent back to them damaged due to the buyer's responsibility.
If you had followed the eBay procedure correctly ... https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/returns-items-not-received-refunds-buyers/restituisci-un-oggetto-cambio-di-un-rimborso?id=4041&st=3&pos=1&query=Restituisci%20un%20oggetto%20in%20cambio%20di%20un%20rimborso&intent=reso&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1134
.... choosing as the reason the fact that the item had already been delivered to you damaged, you would have been entitled to a return at the seller's expense and the refund could only have been full (with no possibility of any deduction).
In case of problems with the seller, eBay would have covered you ... ebay.it/help/buying/returns-items-not-received-refunds-buyers/restituisci-un-oggetto-cambio-di-un-rimborso?id=4041&st=3&pos=1&query=Restituisci%20un%20oggetto%20in%20cambio%20di%20un%20rimborso&intent=reso&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1134
