eBay refund for an item I have no intention of shipping and that I canceled
I cancelled a purchase for a parka that had already been paid for by a customer. I didn’t receive any money and the item was not shipped. Ebay seems to have refunded this gentleman, but now I’m the one who has to reimburse Ebay! This happened within 48 hours, the cost of the jacket is 850 euros, I have to reimburse this amount to Ebay, but obviously I don’t agree: The item is still in my possession, I didn’t ship it of my own will and therefore I didn’t receive any sum into my account. Ebay simply returned the amount that the buyer paid. Why on earth do I have to reimburse Ebay? If I don’t sell, I don’t refund! Guys, help, because something doesn’t add up and it sounds like mafia to me ....

You only had to read the rules to understand that as a new seller, you would have had your funds blocked for at least 15 days... since it was a significant amount, maybe even longer...
You are responsible for the sale and if you therefore cancel it, you are responsible for it and so you have to refund out of your own pocket until ebay unblocks your funds.
So... you sell... the buyer pays ebay... ebay blocks them because you’re a new seller... you cancel... you have to refund... then ebay pays the funds into your account when it unblocks your earnings.
That’s how it works.
