Refund not received and eBay does not take responsibility
Good morning everyone, I have had a problem since August. I ordered an Apple Watch from England, with customs fees included, and when it arrived I was asked for €60 in customs fees because they had not been paid. I refused the item because I would have paid more than for a new one, and this one was used.
Since then I opened the return process even though I had not accepted the item.
The courier says it was returned to the sender, but the sender does not confirm it. Almost 3 months have passed and I can't sort it out, and Ebay told me that the return case was closed on September 30, so even though they had told me to wait, they don't want to know anything anymore... do you have any advice on how to resolve this???

Mentore2 years agoThere’s no way to fix it; unfortunately, you made a very serious mistake by not accepting the package.
If there had been double taxation, you would have been refunded the VAT paid in excess: https://www.ebay.it/help/buying/paying-items/pagare-le-imposte-sugli-acquisti-ebay?id=4771#:~:text=Se%20hai%20pagato%20imposte%20sul,le%20imposte%20che%20hai%20pagato.
As a last resort, try opening a dispute on the payment method used: a claim on PayPal's site or a chargeback through your credit card issuer. But don’t get your hopes up too much.

OP2 years agoI unfortunately wasn’t aware of it and thought that as a user I was protected… since the listing said import fees included, this isn’t the first time this has happened, judging by this seller’s feedback

Mentore2 years agoSo many times you blame the seller for things that don’t exist!
You want to import from non-EU countries without knowing what you’re getting into.
Importing is complicated and difficult to quantify in advance; if customs figured that what was paid upfront was insufficient, it’s obvious they would have asked you for it.
Make sure you inform yourselves well before taking paths you don’t know, both as regards eBay rules and as regards importing.
Kind regards.
