Partial refund when closing a return

I received a refund via PayPal for a return, but the refund is only partial. The price paid when ordering was €189.00 (free shipping), for the return I paid the shipping costs myself and despite this I received a refund of €173.88, reduced by a "discount code" (but what does that have to do with a refund?) of €17.39 for a total refunded amount of €156.49. I was expecting to receive a full refund of €189.00 and I’m asking if someone can explain this, thanks.

OP1 year agophotos" but that wasn’t correct, it’s just that since I’d never done a return before I
couldn’t find a more suitable one and, reading the rules, I had understood that
by cancelling the return request to change the reason I then would not
have been able to open another one.
I was fine with the return shipping costs being at my expense, but I wanted the
full refund of the €189 paid.
Paypal because the payment was made with that and from there I
saw the refund come through, but reduced as explained in the first
message.
I think I followed the return procedure.
Package from an Italian seller, no customs, so I think the payment
through eBay also included VAT.

Mentore1 year agoThe discount code is never refundable, this is clearly specified in any terms and conditions of the code.
Other deductions seem impossible to me, have eBay customer support contact you and ask them.

OP1 year agoMaybe I didn’t explain myself well, at the time of purchase I did not use any discount code,
I paid €189 and that’s it.
In the return details on eBay I see this:
Subtotal EUR 173.88
Discount code -EUR 17.39
---------------
Total refund EUR 156.49
So not only is the refund partial (€173.88 instead of €189.00), but
an amount of €17.39 is also deducted for a "discount code" that
I don’t even know what it is. I repeat, the purchase was for €189 with free shipping,
and I paid €189. Now I’ll try to follow the link provided,
thanks.
