Summary: ju829790 discussed a problem of having accidentally sold three items that are not currently available, but will be in the future. sika700 and other participants responded; there seems to have been an ongoing exchange to try to find a solution or provide assistance, although the specific details of the responses are not provided.
Hello ...due to a mistake of mine I sold 3 items that I don't have available, but they will be available within a week. I should have shipped them today, the buyer already knows that as soon as they arrive I will ship them to him. What would be best for me to do to minimize the related inconvenience...? both for me and for the buyer and eBay itself. And then the buyer paid for one shipping cost instead of 3. Since they were 5 euros each... one each though... not 5 euros for all 3 items... why does this happen? Am I doing something wrong?

Mentore1 year agoHello,
you are a private seller selling new items... which you don't have!
So it is established that you acquire them specifically to resell them, and therefore that makes you a trader.
I would say to cancel the sales and regularize your position, switching to a professional account with VAT number.
Kind regards.

OP1 year agoIt’s not like that. And then I asked for something else.
sika700
Mentore1 year agoThat's what you say.
Anyway, if you read carefully, you'll also find the answer to your question.
Have a nice day.

OP1 year agowhat would the answer be? help me understand? write it yourself, I wouldn't want to misread it among the others you wrote...

Mentore1 year agoIt's not like that
So what is it like then? Explain it, it'll be useful to all the "fake private sellers" crowding the community, all convinced that the DAC07 won't affect them.

Mentore1 year agoIt has already sold 24 items and has only been registered since Feb-2025.
It will be reported to the tax agency in Jan 2026.

OP1 year agobut I didn’t ask about private individuals or professionals.... but please, if a person wants to know when they have to switch from private to professional, they’ll use a serious channel that talks about it, there must be laws... limits.... you talk and don’t say what the limits are.... it seems like they pick you at random... sink or swim? I’m just hoping I get by.... but write the limits if you know them.... or just stick to reading instead of writing stuff you probably don’t know, and that you don’t even need... I dunno.
ju829790
OP1 year agoI explained how it works, the funny thing is that I asked a question that none of you understood... and then I’m the one giving you answers to your own fixations that you make up ... anyway: reporting happens with either 30 items or 2000 euros a year and eBay is required to report to the tax authorities ... this has existed since 2024. Not only eBay but also other ecommerce platforms.
ju829790
OP1 year agoI asked one thing and you all answered something else, then with a tone of: I warned you ...you'll be reported to the NAS, the KGB, 911 etc.... but I say ...if you want to say something, say it properly ....since 2024 eBay is required to report to the tax agency non-professional sellers who: exceed the threshold of 30 sales or exceed 2000 euros in total revenue... doesn't that sound better to you? without acting all like know-it-alls ????
sika700
Mentore1 year agoSure, you're right, but it's not the only thing that could happen...
Have a good day.

OP1 year agoyou must be a kid, I guess? why do you think that? the difference between private or professional...is it the fact that you buy new products to resell them? are you serious?
ju829790
OP1 year agoso if someone has another person buy them for you, and you say they were given to you as a gift, can you sell whatever crap you want? or do you sell used items and think you can sell anything you want? after all, they’re used ????? you’ve got imagination to spare....
sika700
Mentore1 year agoOnce I was a kid... good times... now instead I’m aware of what I said, the law is clear: if you buy specifically to resell, you’re a merchant, so if you do it as a private individual, you’re operating illegally... and not just that, obviously.
But getting informed, no??
Or do you prefer to act like a big shot on the forum?
ju829790
OP1 year agobut I didn’t buy and resell ... but why are you making assumptions? you can buy and resell if you want ... it depends on the number of sales and the earnings ... you’re confusing selling new products with selling used products and you think that’s the difference ... 1 ) you can sell new products, which you inherited, which were given to you, which you found in the attic, which you stole etc.... it doesn’t mean you bought them ... and anyway it’s not forbidden to do so if it’s in a certain quantity ....2 ) if you sell used products and you sell 31 in a year and exceed 1999 euros ... you will still be reported to the tax agency ... just to give a basic idea... because I think you’re a bit short on the ABCs... in what you think you know...
ju829790
OP1 year agodo you think that someone who sells used items should not be considered a professional seller? why? couldn’t they have bought the used item and resold it? in my opinion you’re reasoning without using a bit of logic...
ju829790
OP1 year agoyou think that someone who sells used items should not be considered a professional seller? why? couldn’t the used item have been bought and resold? in my opinion you’re reasoning without using a bit of logic... this is about how ebay handles reports ... do you think ebay knows whether a new item was bought in order to resell it??? why would it care? if it could, it wouldn’t report anyone to the tax agency ...it would solve the issue internally by forcing the seller to change status from private to professional, reporting them to the tax agency probably means losing sellers, if it weren’t required it wouldn’t do it.
ju829790
OP1 year agoIt’s not a matter of showing off, but if you say something, be sure you know what you’re talking about... if you say that someone can’t buy to resell, otherwise you have to be a professional.... for me, you’re a bit confused.... you’re making a mess of everything... you’re taking 3/4 bits of info, mixing them up, confusing them, making a huge mess, calling others show-offs... and then what? in the end, not saying anything.... now if you want to reply... do it seriously... write how it works, tell us the difference between private and professional, on eBay, we’re talking about eBay sellers.... explain when a seller acting as a private individual has to switch to professional...( also include this case: a seller of used products, say CDs, vinyl records, video games, who sells 50 products in a year, say....with a total income of 2100 euros, what is he supposed to do? is he forced to be professional? let’s see...)
ju829790
OP1 year agoTHE MORE I READ YOUR REPLY the more I want to ask you questions ....: Hello,

OP1 year agoso the one who sells used stuff isn't a dealer, the one who sells new stuff is ?????? but you? are you out of your mind? what kind of talk is that? I'd like to know what logic you're using... actually, maybe it's better not to know.... x sika-

Mentore1 year agoYou believe too much... anyway, you're a special case...
Believe whatever you want.
