"Item not received" scam
Summary: The discussion concerns the "item not received scam," but no specific details are provided in the messages nor any observations from the participants.
So far I had always sold low-value items without tracking, and I had never had any problems. Unfortunately, I too ran into the crafty guy who takes advantage of items shipped without tracking to get them for free.
He used a type of payment that I would have received only "once the item was received", which actually made me suspicious right away, because none of my buyers had ever used it before.
The request is still open, and I am ready to report the user to ebay, with the various screenshots of his garbled and ungrammatical messages, written with google translate or some AI, in the classic style of a cheap scammer, as well as those from my other shipments without tracking, for which the buyers have never had any problems...
ready to report, yes, if there were a way to report this! I've been looking for an hour for a link that would let me do it but I don't see one anywhere.
In short, my question is:
since I used a service without tracking, ebay leaves me on my own, effectively allowing these scammers to take advantage of the situation, and making the sale of small or low-value items impossible because I would have to cover the price of tracked shipping?
Or can I still do something before the scammer's request closes (or after the request has closed)?

Exactly... you know yourself that you have no proof that delivery ever took place, so there's no point in filing any report... also because what would you report??
Kind regards.
