if someone with similar experience can explain
Hello, I’ve been a buyer on eBay since 2009 and for about the last couple of years I’ve also started selling, getting 100% positive feedback in both cases until a month ago. In short, what happened is that someone bought an item from me that was practically new, claimed it didn’t work and for that reason wanted a refund, but without returning the item because it was broken anyway and he doesn’t have time to waste going to the post office. At this point we exchange a couple of emails, I say okay, I get it, I play dumb and tell him that for the return there’s no problem, to send me the weight and dimensions of the package for the courier. Angry, he replies that he isn’t sending anything back... but why? I’m paying for everything and the courier comes right to the house, he only has to prepare the package and hand it over. He leaves me negative feedback with absurd justifications and says that I don’t want to issue the refund. Of course I’ll issue the refund if you send the item back, then I get the message " return closed by the buyer" and then this too from eBay " We will let you know when we are contacted by the buyer’s payment institution. The wait is usually 2-8 weeks, but in some cases it may be longer. We will also provide our cooperation to see whether the item can be returned to you. but ..? I’m quite confused

OP2 years agoHello, first of all thanks for the reply, which makes me understand and further confirms that this is a scam. I should say that I am not a professional seller, nor am I doing it to make money (luckily I don't need it), but only for fun and as a hobby, and above all to pass on and give another life to items I bought, even just on a whim or out of curiosity, many of which after a few months/weeks I resell or give to friends and relatives; otherwise they would end up in a landfill. I had about thirty items for sale and many more that I haven't had time to list yet. I even bought a sublimation printer for the labels😂, but having said that, from the very beginning the gentleman, with a video (which I downloaded), shows me that everything works, but according to him it doesn't. I pointed out to him that based on the video you can see that everything is in order, so for me there is no problem, so either he is ignorant or he wants to screw me over. The item in question is new, opened, tested, and put back in the box; it became old if you can call it that, because it remained unsold on eBay for months. Another thing, there are no instructions regarding it if the buyer, who has 0 purchases and 0 feedback, decided not to return the item. I stuck to what is normal and logical to do: I accepted the return/refund. In this case eBay should warn that you still need to print a LDV to get justice. Now it's a matter of principle, I have no problem with it, I can even give it to him, especially since it was a freebie from a Windtre promotion. Regarding the account, I removed all the items and once this is over I will close it, but what the scammer gentleman doesn't know, but will soon find out, is that I have a house along the Sicilian coast where I spend my holidays or periods to relax, about an hour from his house. I will definitely pay him a visit together with my local gardener to say hello and even offer him a coffee.

Mentore2 years agoYou handled the return request very badly.
If you shipped the package, you already knew its weight and dimensions, so asking him for them was just an excuse!
You provided the label in the process and everything passed into the buyer's hands... didn't he ship it?
You would have won!
Basically, now the buyer has closed the request and opened a chargeback on his payment method.
Kind regards.
