Hello,
what happened is insane. I shipped an item to the address the buyer had set on eBay to receive packages. I shipped it with standard delivery by post (tracked, of course). The next day, on the postal service website, the package showed as delivered. So everything was fine? No, after a few days the buyer opens a claim for item not received. I call the buyer and send him the screenshot from the postal service website. He tells me he didn’t receive the item and that even if the postal website shows it as delivered, that’s not correct because it was delivered to another city, which turns out to be the postal sorting center. I go back to the post office and talk to the clerk, and he tells me the buyer needs to go to his local post office and have the sorting center contacted. In the meantime, I contacted eBay customer service 4 times, and they reassure me that I won’t have to refund the buyer. Today, I got the email saying that eBay refunded the buyer. I contact customer service and they reply that even if the address on the shipping receipt is correct, and even if it shows as delivered, they have to refund the buyer for item not received.
So, to sum up, for eBay, in order to be sure an item is delivered, the seller should take it to the buyer personally and have them sign for it? Absolutely insane! I will close my 2 accounts and move to other platforms. You should be ashamed

Mentore1 year agoIn a case like this, you would have had the same problem on every platform.
The answer you were given at the post office made no logical sense; only you, who had the shipping receipt, had the right to contact the sorting center.
The service you chose had proof of delivery only as a paid option, so it should have been the postal service that explained to you why the package was marked as delivered in another city.
