Tricky situation, I don't know how to get out of it
Hi everyone, thanks in advance to those who will reply to me.
I know this is a topic that has been dealt with and over-dealt with in every possible way; I’ve read all the topics related to it, but none of them applied to my case.
I bought an '86 Swatch Vintage watch from a seller in the USA. It made its way all the way to Los Angeles until, unfortunately, it ended up in the clutches of Poste Italiane. Here’s the tracking: LG028367656US
As you can see, it has been stuck in customs since October 13. I called the real Poste Italiane numbers, but they were very vague: one told me there were no problems but that they would send me some forms (which I never received). He also told me that the package is in Milan Roserio. I called another number that this operator gave me, and a girl confirmed that there were no problems and told me to wait because customs are slow.
Just to be clear, the seller says he didn’t forget to include any forms and that he didn’t declare less than he should have.
Knowing I might run into customs, I even asked the seller to remove the watch battery.
How can I get this sorted out? The Milan Roserio number is always busy, I’m waiting, but in the meantime the tracking is completely stuck.
Can anyone give me some tips on how to get this sorted out?

OP2 years agoThanks for the reply. What really drives me crazy is that it seems like no one at Poste Italiane wants to tell me exactly what the problem is that this parcel was held up for.

Mentore2 years agoCustoms has its own timing, often biblical, and the amount of time the item stays with them can be absolutely normal.

OP2 years agoBut do you think there could be issues because of which they stopped it? I’d rule out counterfeiting, I wouldn’t say dangerous goods, the seller assured me everything’s in order....
