My father signed up for Ebay in 2015, an account with which he made only one purchase in that same year and then NEVER used again. Toward the end of last year, he started receiving emails on his email address from ebay about 'financial reports' that he didn't pay any attention to. Then, suddenly a few days ago, an email arrived from Nivi srl (apparently a debt collection company) with an attachment requesting a payment of 3000 euros. He then tried to log in using the password he had written down in an excel file, but it was not correct because it was definitely changed, and he can't recover the password because confirmation is required on a phone that no one knows who it belongs to. Over the years, and even in these last few months, my father has never received any emails regarding logins, sales, password changes, or complaints from other users. Support has so far said that there are some sales, but that for reasons of 'privacy' they can't say anything else. Has this ever happened to anyone? What can be done? Postal police?
