I'm desperate, I'm being bounced back and forth between eBay and Klarna, received an empty package and no refund for months
Summary: gelspa-0 expresses despair over a situation in which they are trying to resolve a problem between eBay and Klarna. They received an empty package and have not gotten a refund for months, causing frustration and uncertainty.
Hi everyone,
I’m writing because I’m in a ridiculous situation and I can’t seem to get out of it anymore.
I bought an iPhone 17 Pro from a private seller on eBay, with Klarna installment payments. So you can imagine the financial damage.
When it was delivered, the phone wasn’t in the package.
- So I:
opened a proper dispute on eBay
provided all the requested proof
filed a police report
While I was waiting for eBay’s decision, fearing it would take a long time since at first they had closed and reopened the dispute because it had been opened with the wrong reason, and not being able to keep paying installments for a product I hadn’t received, I contacted Klarna solely and exclusively to ask for a temporary suspension of the installments, as a precaution.
Not to get a double refund.
- Afterwards:
eBay closed the dispute IN MY FAVOR, recognizing that I was right
but the refund was blocked the next day, because according to eBay I would have “lost the protection” by contacting Klarna
eBay tells me that now Klarna has to deal with it
Klarna, instead, refuses the refund and sends me back to eBay, also because Klarna went back to the private seller to request explanations, who of course is justifying himself and completely ignores my evidence
- Result:
refund approved but never issued
no refund from Klarna
installments still active for a product never received
the situation has been going on for months
- I’m stuck in a total ping-pong between eBay and Klarna, despite:
eBay’s favorable decision
evidence (including package unboxing video)
report
no double refund ever having happened
I’m asking whether anyone has had a similar case or whether a moderator can tell me how to enforce a refund decision already approved by eBay, since at the moment neither of the two is taking responsibility.
Thanks to anyone who replies.

OP7 months agop.s. I don't even know how to contact someone higher up, maybe via PEC, compared to normal customer support that isn't helpful
