I got screwed.
I sold a video game in perfect condition, sealed and unused. The buyer (from Portugal) asked me to return the item, because according to him it arrived opened and used. He showed me photos of a video game case similar to the one I sent him, without the seal. I found that the buyer sent me photos of a video game similar to the one I sold him (even though a brand shown on the cover does not match) opened and used. I reported the matter to Ebay and pointed it out to the buyer as well; I requested the photos of the back of the case from him (to compare the barcode), the buyer raised a dispute through Ebay, claiming that he had received an item not as described. Ebay obviously sided with him.
Now I don't know whether the buyer will return the item I sold him or whether he will keep everything; Ebay didn't tell me that. He could even send me the case of his item in his possession, similar but damaged.
In short: the buyer, by showing photos of a product he already had in his possession, managed to get a brand-new item for free, complete with a sealed case, obviously with greater economic value.
I was literally screwed over by the buyer. I will never sell on Ebay again.

Mentore2 years agoUnfortunately, these are things that can happen to anyone who sells online, the problem exists not only on eBay... don’t worry...
You can avoid similar incidents only in those markets with hand delivery and cash payment, obviously very limited.

It's really a shame that the seller doesn't have the chance to present their reasons.
I understand that I could have inserted a different product from the one declared, but that's not what I did.
Unfortunately dishonest people profit from others' honesty, as always.
I'll report to Ebay that I was scammed and that I won't sell on the platform anymore.
I was really disappointed.
