I was scammed. At the end of October I bought a Nintendo video game console; it was (or rather, it was supposed to be) a rare special edition of some value, from a Japanese seller. The listing showed this console, handled with gloves, looking every bit authentic; in any case, I decided to ask the seller for information about the item's authenticity anyway, and received an affirmative answer. When the package was delivered, I immediately realized something was wrong: the package itself was not suitable for an item of that value and the item was clearly a fake. When I asked the seller for an explanation, they pretended not to understand/not to know, so I immediately started a return process; I was provided with a return label (after a few days) and I tried to take the package with the label to a shipping point for the selected courier (UPS). The label was not recognized by the UPS shipping point operator. I called eBay support several times, and each time they confirmed that it was a valid label. At this point, extremely irritated, I contacted UPS support, who denied everything and confirmed, on the contrary, that that shipping code was not recognized. At the moment, after another call to eBay support, the return request has been put on hold for 5 days and I am waiting for a new label from the seller... I wanted to ask you fellow users for some feedback on the situation and understand how to proceed with the idea of resolving this dispute in the least damaging way possible for my finances.Do you think the seller will send me another fake return label? Is there anything else I can do?
