Insured shipping?
Good morning,
I’ll only take up a few minutes of your time.
I have been an Ebay user since 2004 with all positive feedback.
I am writing this to quickly explain, with regret, what happened to me in a transaction carried out on the platform.
On January 15, 2023, I purchased two coins from an Ebay user and paid via PayPal.
On January 16, the seller, in order to proceed quickly with shipping, was offered on the Ebay platform to send the goods via Packlink, with insurance: the seller accepted the offer with insurance/tracking and the procedure automatically printed the shipping label with the nature of the goods. Everything was then duly shipped to the post office.
From the tracking, it can be seen that the goods duly left the post office, were sent to the postal operations center in Milan (SDA) and then to be shipped to Gorizia, the exact shipping address.
Unfortunately, the tracking shows that since January 17 the goods have been stuck at the postal operations center in Milan (most likely lost?)
Together with the seller, we tried in vain to contact SDA and the post office, who keep saying that we need to contact Packlink.
Once the issue was opened with Packlink, they simply replied that they do not insure articles of Antiques and Vintage, Art, Money, etc. and a whole series of products: I wonder what can be insured if not valuable items. If the seller had known this, he would certainly have sent/insured the goods through other carriers.
The procedure automatically proposed and printed the shipping document automatically with the description of the goods: allow me to say that this is quite misleading for a user at the shipping stage.
I am in contact with the seller with whom we are trying in every way to resolve the issue, but unfortunately we are up against a brick wall, where the post office/SDA do not respond even though it is clear that the goods, taken over by them, were most likely lost at the Milan postal sorting center, and Packlink simply closed the matter by denying the refund. Ironically, the seller received a communication from Ebay informing him of a charge for an unpaid sale.
In short: the seller lost the goods, with an additional unpaid-fee charge; I did not receive the shipment; and the carrier, although it is obvious that it lost the goods, is not taking responsibility for its actions.
In the spirit of a fair commercial transaction, I do not think it is right for this to happen, especially on the Ebay platform, which I consider trustworthy.
It is a matter of principle, I repeat, a spirit of fairness in commercial transactions.

Mentore3 years agoGood evening,
since shipping is the seller's responsibility, it would be proper for the latter to refund you...
