International Chrono Shipping via eBay Shipping: label with errors
Hello, I’m starting this discussion to ask for help regarding the Crono Internazionale shipping method offered by eBay Shipping.
I need to ship an item to an EU country (Denmark). I looked at the options offered by eBay Shipping and in the end I chose Crono Internazionale by Poste Italiane. After entering all the information correctly, I purchased the shipment and the platform automatically generated the label; however, I noticed that the item description and the corresponding customs code in the "Customs declaration" section are wrong. Specifically, the item is a router, so as the description I believe "Informatica" is more correct, and the customs code 8517620000, whereas the label shows "Abbigliamento" and the customs code 6103290000.
A few years ago I had already run into this error with Crono Internazionale; in the end I opted for a different courier, but this time the choice was fairly limited. I had thought of correcting the label by hand, however I’m not sure that’s the best way to proceed (nor whether a label like that will be accepted). Does anyone have any experience/suggestions about this?

OP3 years agoHere I am again, just to confirm that in the end the package arrived at its destination despite the error on the shipping label (an error I corrected by hand as explained in the post now marked as the solution).

OP3 years agoHere I am again after a short time with an update on the matter.
In addition to asking for help here, I had promptly contacted customer support asking for clarification on how to proceed. I’m pleasantly surprised that I’ve already received a reply, and I’ll reproduce the content below more or less verbatim.
Basically, I was told that at the moment all Crono International labels (EU and non-EU) are automatically issued with a generic TARIC code and description (respectively, 6103290000 and "Clothing"), due to a technical issue with Poste Italiane. The instruction is to enter the correct TARIC code by hand or to change the prefilled field directly by computer, choosing from those currently accepted by the postal network (the list was attached to the reply). Since the label is generated automatically, I chose the first option by blacking out the prefilled line content and writing the correct info on a new line.
By the way, I noticed that some non-native characters were omitted from the shipping address; I hope this doesn’t cause any problems with delivery. For informational purposes, I’ll keep you updated.

OP3 years agoI had this doubt too, and in fact I didn’t insert the "Dichiarazione doganale" section myself; instead, it is "integrated" into the label automatically generated by the platform, with all fields pre-filled.

OP3 years agoI'm adding a note in a separate message. Based on the reply received from support, it seems that for shipments via Poste Italiane the TARIC code is mandatory only in the case of international shipments outside the EU. However, as of the date of this message, the Crono Internazionale shipping guide on their website states that "the methods for filling out the waybill vary depending on the chosen service access solution", and that "for web solutions the Customs Declaration (CN 23) is produced automatically by the system and is integrated into the waybill".
