International shipping, difficult to set up and with some countries incorrect
I discovered that my listings, which were once international, are no longer so thanks to the new console introduced....
Now, to enable international sales, you have to set at least a shipping value and then enable worldwide shipping....being careful not to accidentally exclude some areas...
But this doesn't solve the problems because:
If I set shipping to Europe, a user in the United States via the app can't complete the purchase because they get the error message that I don't ship to their country (I tried setting the shipping address to the USA with my smartphone but, if I make the same purchase through the website on a PC this doesn't happen and I could get the item to the USA by asking the buyer for the shipping costs before payment) and since now most of the actions on listings are done by buyers through the app....this limits international sales potential (where, among other things, the fees are higher for a less efficient service....).
If, instead, I include the Americas, countries in the southern zone also appear among the countries I would have to ship to at the set amount, where shipping is higher (tested: Guam, Marshall Islands, Palau, American Samoa and Wake Island)...not to mention that some countries, even if remote, do not exist (for example Pitcairn Island) and Micronesia makes the country change crash)....
I wonder what would happen if a buyer from those countries completed the purchase....even if I cancel the sale I pay the fee as has already happened to me for a domestic shipping on a damaged item that I canceled and for which the fee was withheld, or given the system's selection error this fee will not be deducted from me?
Also, since I have sold some items in New Zealand, the countries in the southern area are represented only by Australia as shippable rates while all the others are either not reachable if buyers use the app instead of the PC (as indicated in the part of 'If I set shipping to Europe...) or are included in the American rate zone (as indicated in 'If, instead, I include the Americas....).
I wonder if anyone can help me understand how to proceed so I don't spend months again with sales reduced because they are limited to the domestic market only....

OP2 years agoAdditionally, I’d like to add:
Regarding listing 165652648923 I set shipping to Europe (all countries), the Americas, Australia, and then worldwide....
When setting a country in Oceania other than Australia, for some this condition occurs:
For others there’s an error, that is, the shipping cost calculation shows the cost for the Americas but in reality the cost for the Australasian area is higher....
As you can see, there’s about a €4.70 difference....

Mentore2 years agoHello,
after checking a couple of listings, you ship only within Italy.
You need to modify your selling rules accordingly:
https://www.ebay.it/help/selling/business-policies/gestore-delle-regole-di-vendita?id=4212&st=3&pos=1&query=Gestore%20delle%20regole%20di%20vendita&intent=regole%20di%20vendita&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1240
Also, to avoid remote areas, you need to create your shipping rate tables and apply them to the relevant rules:

Kind regards.

OP2 years agoThanks for the reply.
I can confirm that at the moment I only have 2 listings with international shipping enabled because first I want to understand well how to set it up correctly.
I tried to make some rules, but they are too complicated to manage and have to be updated too often.....it would be much simpler to let the user offer international shipping and add, for the buyer, a link called for example 'ask the seller to provide you with the shipping costs'....
I don't want to exclude areas, but I will point out to EBay that some countries correctly listed in Oceania, when the system calculates shipping costs, appear as if they were in the Americas as the cost shown to the buyer, a lower cost than Oceania with a resulting financial loss even greater than the value of the item or a high fee to lose if I cancel the sale.

Mentore2 years agoMaybe it’s worth reading carefully how the selling rules work; once you create it and you’re sure it works properly, there’s no reason to modify it, you just need to apply it to the listings you’re interested in, even in bulk.
It is no longer possible to ask the seller for shipping costs; if you don’t set them, the prospective buyer won’t see the listing or won’t be able to buy.
Also, with the sales tables, you don’t need to exclude any country, you simply need to add to or subtract from the shipping amount.
Study the pages I provided carefully.
Kind regards.
