Shipment delivered but the recipient says no, I have to issue a refund
Good evening, in August I sold an item on eBay, shipped it and sent the tracking number to the buyer. Days went by and he didn’t receive it, I tracked it and sent him the tracking.....something he could have done too since all he had to do was go to the post office website.
In the end the package shows as delivered but he starts the refund process. since I had no way of knowing how and where it had been delivered, I was forced to issue the refund after getting a negative feedback.
Now the post office has finally replied to my complaint, telling me that the package was delivered and left on the mailbox after having received authorization to leave it there.
the buyer tells me he doesn’t have a doorbell and I hadn’t put a phone number. How should I behave?
I don’t think it’s fair that all the blame falls on me

OP2 years agoThe buyer saw the tracking because I sent it by email.
Ebay asked me for confirmation and I started the complaint procedure.....unfortunately the post office has its own timing.
It's the first time this has happened to me, now I'll know how to handle it.
Thanks

Mentore2 years agoIf you've already made the refund, it's pointless asking now.
If you had the delivery receipt, preferably the POD, it was enough to include it in the request for documents that eBay makes in the three days available to the seller (from the opening of the dispute).
