Shipment returned to sender after one day
Good morning everyone,
on 04/07 I sent it via Posta 1 and on 05/07 I checked the shipment, which shows as "returned to sender" with the note: "the shipment was not collected by the recipient and will be returned to the sender".
I should note that I have often shipped with Posta 1 (even though recently I’ve been using Bartolini more because it costs more or less the same) and I’ve never had any problems; this is the first time this has happened to me and I wanted to understand how to handle it, also because I sold the item with shipping offered by me.
Obviously I will give the buyer the option to choose whether or not to resend the item (this time with Bartolini), but since this is a postal error I at least expect to be reimbursed for the shipping costs (4€ and not 2.80 because the thickness slightly exceeded the limit).
I believe this is a postal error for 2 reasons:
1) the buyer did not receive any storage notice and, as a rule, the shipment should remain at the nearby post office for 2 weeks before being sent back
2) The address is correct and clearly written, and I am ready to prove it with photos if it comes back.

Mentore3 years agoAnyway, if it’s a postal error and there’s no responsibility on the buyer’s part, you’ll have to fully refund or resend at your own expense.
For professional sellers, the rule provides for the seller’s responsibility until delivery. Ebay contractually extends this procedure to private sellers as well.

Posta 1 does not include anything you mentioned... it is not registered mail and therefore is not handed over in person, but is simply left in the letterbox.
It does not involve any holding at the post office, no notice of failed delivery, nor any proof of delivery.
So it must be some other type of shipment... or some other issue...
