International shipping impossible
Hi everyone,
Unfortunately, I’ve realized that in some countries it’s really impossible to ship a 12" LP vinyl record. Right now I’m selling as a private seller, so I have some limitations.
If we take the dimensions and packaging, it comes out to a perimeter of 135-140, and Poste Delivery International Standard rejects the option because it requires a maximum length format of 105 cm. Then there’s the bulky parcel option, but not all countries can use it.
I’ll use the island of Saint Helena as an example, where only this type of shipping is available, not Globe.
Registered mail and Postamail reject these dimensions.
At the post office today they told me that it means total length, but I wouldn’t bet on it; often many things aren’t even known by the operators. On the phone they told me that a vinyl record would go through just fine with Delivery International.

I saw that there’s the eBay Pickup Point option, which I still don’t really know how it works, but in the list of excluded categories it says "Records". Do you know whether they mean vinyl records or some other kind of records? There are also lots of other more or less dangerous things there, which is why I have this doubt.

OP3 years agoIt's true that there are couriers, but in some places it's really inconvenient for the buyer to use a courier. And the Post Office prices aren't great either, but they're lower.
