Extracommunity sellers, especially Chinese ones, should be required to state in the listing that certain types of goods are subject to very high customs fees, in my case around 120% of the item's value. Even if you do not want to accept the goods, the taxes will still have to be paid, so for the protection of buyers, certain situations should be regulated.

Mentore2 years agoIn distance selling, the transaction is considered carried out at the seller's registered office.
So it is the buyer who “goes” to a non-EU country and buys something that they then have shipped to Italy.
Since when the goods cross customs they already belong to the buyer, only they have the responsibility and all the burdens of this passage.
Sellers cannot know in advance the nationality of buyers and therefore cannot put any kind of notice.
Only for UK and US sellers, ebay offers a shipping service that calculates import costs in advance, but it is only the seller who decides whether or not to join these services.
