Shipping costs
Hello, I returned a product I had purchased, but I had to pay the shipping costs myself, with the clause that they would be refunded to me. The seller told me I had to use the site www.packlink.it for which I spent €7.95, but as of today they have not been refunded to me

Mentore3 years agoSimply, you shouldn’t have paid them... if the return was for a non-conforming item, the seller should have paid them... if you had opened the correct procedure on eBay.
Find out BEFORE doing dumb stuff... not after.
It’s unlikely the shipping you paid for will be refunded... only the seller can do that, if they want to, by mutual agreement.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoSorry but ebay told me that for the return I had to arrange it with the seller and so I did

Mentore3 years agoYou didn’t specify the reason for the return... but it can be inferred that it’s for an item not as described...
Anyway, first you wrote the seller... now ebay... how exactly would it have told you?
Excerpt from the rules:
When you send an item back to the seller, you can do it in several ways. If the return shipping costs are paid by the seller, they will decide how the item will be sent back to them and tell you which method to use. Usually they will ask you to send the item back using:
The seller is required to send you the money to cover the return shipping costs in advance, since this cost is not covered by the eBay Customer Guarantee.

OP3 years agoYou wrote everything I did. The seller messaged me explaining how I had to proceed to make the return. I sent the item back because it was purchased by mistake. I asked eBay for the return method and they accepted my request and told me to contact the seller to arrange shipping. The seller confirmed the return and directed me to the website mentioned above, taking on the shipping costs, which I have not yet had. So everything is exactly as you wrote

Mentore3 years agoNo no, if you made the purchase by mistake, then everything said DOES NOT apply... it's correct that you paid the return shipping costs and that they were not reimbursed.
The mistake is your responsibility.
So, please, so as not to mislead with unsuitable answers, next time clearly specify what the problem is and the reason for the return.
Kind regards.

OP3 years agoYes, it is my responsibility, but the seller assured me that the shipping costs are on him. I apologize if I didn’t write that at the beginning, but since the listing says

Mentore3 years agoThe fact that the seller indicated that he pays return shipping costs in any case is his own initiative... so there is nowhere written in eBay's rules that you can force him with some procedure...
eBay is clear: if the return request is because you changed your mind or made a mistake, the return shipping costs are the buyer's responsibility.
If the seller doesn't reimburse them, you can only complain to him... he writes that "The cost of the return will be refunded via Paypal after the product arrives."... so if the product has arrived, ask him for the refund, giving him the email address to which he should send the money... eBay can't do it for you!
Kind regards.
