I sold a printer at auction to a buyer but the payment shows as in progress what does that mean and how long does it take to ship the package?

the payment only has two options: paid or to be paid!
It can't be in progress... it either happens or it doesn't.
So, if it appears here: Manage orders to be shipped (ebay.it) it means it has been paid and so you have to ship it yourself... nobody else can do it for you...
if instead it appears here: Manage orders awaiting payment (ebay.it) it means it still needs to be paid.
Also remember that you are a new seller, so ebay applies a temporary hold on your funds for at least 15 days.
