Import tariff
Good morning, for the first time I bought an item from an international seller, specifically from Canada, a couple of days before the goods arrive, I get a notification from UPS inviting me to pay an import fee, I contacted the seller, who tells me that this tax is normal. Question: I looked at the listing a thousand times, and I can't find any indication, only the shipping costs; instead, I find on eBay's rules that the seller is obligated to inform the buyer of any customs duties, so in the end I spend more this way than buying it in Italy or Europe in general. It doesn't seem right to me.

Mentore3 years agoCould you kindly post where you read this "obligation" in eBay’s rules... because this is impossible...
Honestly, how is a seller supposed to predict where they will sell the item by indicating the import costs... which are entirely the buyer’s responsibility and calculated by customs?
So the answer to your question is that YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN that by buying from a non-EU country, you would have had to pay customs, duties, VAT, and some other charges!
Best regards.
