Seller report outcome times?
I asked Ebay to step in regarding a seller because of the improper way they posted the listing (misleading photos and text).
Ebay confirmed by email that they had received my report, but after more than a month I haven't heard anything, and, strangely enough, I don't see any trace of the report in my account.
Your experiences?

OP3 years agoI first exchanged many messages with the seller (within Ebay) and noticed that he already had 2 negative feedbacks on the point I was contesting.
He implicitly admitted his fault, and later partially changed the description, but not the photos. The listing still remains quite misleading: it plays on the ambiguity of the description and the photos.
I reported everything to Ebay, through the "Report" option on the Help page, specifying all the violations (among other things, also an invoice not in line with the price paid), which are clearly evident from the exchange of messages with the seller.
I immediately received confirmation from Ebay that my report had been received, but I see that after a month the seller is still there, with his listing.
At this point I wonder what the point is of reporting dishonest sellers...

OP3 years agoYes, the item -a car replacement part, sold as compatible with the original- is not compliant.
But you can only realize that after trying to install it. Later, by looking at the photos in the listing, you notice the subtle difference between what was shipped and what was posted. The clever seller partially changed the description after my complaints, specifying that it is not perfectly compatible, but adjustments are needed. Then, even more cleverly, he offers me a refund *specifying that the item must never have been opened or used*... Impossible, since as I said you have to open it and only when fitting it do you verify that it is not perfectly compatible.

Mentore3 years agoI also read your other post... I don’t know the reason why you reported the seller, but the best one is because he sells items that, as a private seller, he cannot sell (new ones), then Gdf....
If he changed the listing after you received your item, the one you made your purchase with counts; if there was even the slightest nonconformity, you would send it back at his expense, with other buyers in your same situation eBay first applies restrictions to the account, then closes it.

Mentore3 years agoThe seller's simple report may not produce any result... and for sure ebay does not notify anyone what kind of result it might be.
Obviously, the more identical reports it receives, the more ebay will consider what to do... but if they are only "assumptions" without having verified the item's non-compliance by having purchased it, it is obvious that it doesn't amount to much...
Kind regards.

Mentore3 years agoIf you simply "reported" a seller, ebay will never tell you whether or how it takes action... you know... for privacy!
If, on the other hand, you opened some kind of report and you don't see any trace of it in your account, you probably let it expire...
Or else, explain better.
Best regards.
