Term "refurbished" not allowed
Today I received a message that I summarized in the title, where I was told to remove this term "refurbished" because I don't qualify to use it.
Now I have read the program that has been "launched" for this further security and certification that ebay allows (or if you like, selects, or limits); but only to companies or professionals tied to the manufacturer and the item and a thousand other little footnotes.
I used another term, but if I’m a private individual who bought an item or fixed/replaced/verified the functioning of an item on my own, why can’t I use the term refurbished?
I had to fall back on reconditioned, but it seems limiting to me not being able to use words/texts reserved for certain professionals, as if to say that certain means and results are only within someone’s reach and not others', (for example, look, we only sell vans to couriers, as for you who are a private individual, the wood you carry with a wheelbarrow... don’t look at the drill and for those who do masonry work, you private individuals dig by hand) and that obviously the last word (and only one) is only tied to this portal; something that for now and I hope NEVER will happen on other portals, indeed I ask and I am curious to know what lies behind this...
Already in the past some listings of mine were closed because I reported the name of the item's manufacturer and I was not the owner, and they were closed.
Who knows tomorrow...

OP3 years agoDear all, have you ever even thought about having an item professionally refurbished at home and wanting to sell it? ON EBAY YOU CAN'T, no matter what, not even if I show an invoice... ridiculous.
Then the point about the CLEAR CENSORSHIP of WORDS doesn't bother you.
It seems to me that from your replies you take it for granted that a professional job can not only be done by a professional, but that it must be certified and that no room can be given to the use of certain terms.
Words and methods blatantly aimed at making money, and nothing else.
I have excellent private acquaintances who work in a mediocre way, just as I have excellent professionals who work in a mediocre way, I have professionals who are not affiliated with anything or anyone and don't intend to be.
Ebay not only wants the professional to sell, it wants them certified.
But the private seller, we want as it is defined, namely "private" even in words.
So if I'm a private individual who bought a refurbished used item (today, yesterday, 20 years ago) I can't resell it, or am I wrong? And I can't use certain words, you know this is called MONOPOLY, that this is called CENSORSHIP.
And this only happens on this marketplace, for now.
I refer you to an excellent film, Brazil, where an ordinary citizen was helped by an "unauthorized professional" who behaved sneakily, because he was not authorized, and it was AWESOME, such a theme...

Mentore3 years agoIf you’re a private individual, you can resell it as used, not as refurbished... the answer seems pretty simple to me...
Kind regards.

Mentore3 years ago...... moreover, the term refurbished, for a professional seller subject to EU regulations, should include a legal warranty of at least one year. Something a private seller certainly cannot provide.

Mentore3 years agoHello,
the answer to your question is contained in a simple sentence of yours: "I am a private individual who bought a product or repaired/replaced/verified the functioning of a product on my own"
How can you accept its functioning if you do not have the main characteristic needed to do so, namely being a properly registered professional in the field?
It is the same issue as the home certification of an electrical system: if you are a private individual, even if you're an excellent electrician, you cannot "self-certify" the proper functioning of the system... why?
Because you are not a professional.
Kind regards.
