Scam
Good morning everyone.
As per the subject, I’m asking for information on what to do after being scammed.
Here are the facts in brief: I bought 3 football shirts at auction, one of which was not insignificant in value (178 euros). Seller "TOP", hundreds of reviews, all obviously positive, lots of photos of the items, labels, etc. In short, nothing that would have suggested any problems. However, I started doing in-depth research and comparing the items on various specialized forums and it turned out that the goods in question are counterfeit, because the codes present do not match the original ones.
Unfortunately, the 30 days since receipt have passed, Ebay provides no protection, and the seller is not responding. Does anyone know what I can do, without necessarily having to file a complaint under art. 640 of the penal code?

Mentore3 years agoYou can open a dispute on the payment method you used:
If you used PayPal, you can file a dispute on their site (within 180 days of payment)
If you used a credit card, you can get help from the issuing bank for a chargeback (within one year).

To use the procedure you indicated, it is also necessary to file a complaint with the competent authorities: what I cannot understand is that Ebay does not provide any protection tool without having to resort to this, thus, in fact, helping these people. Equally absurd is the impossibility of changing the feedback and therefore warning potential buyers about possible scams.
It really seems like a method designed to encourage certain practices.

Mentore3 years agoEbay provides for it, the problem is that it only allows "only" 30 days (from delivery) to check the material received. On feedback you can add further comments.

OP3 years agoItalian law provides three months or six months as the deadline for filing complaints, but Ebay believes that protection should last only (without quotation marks) 30 days.
This is a blatant joke, just like the option for additional comments, which are completely irrelevant to the feedback.
So now I’ll have to file a complaint and see it almost 100% likely dismissed for “the slightness of the act,” while the so-called “top” seller will continue undisturbed to scam people with his nice 100% positive feedback.

Mentore3 years ago.....but at least you’ll be refunded and with the complaint they should seize the goods, so you’d be excused from returning them.
