eBay scam
After so many years of buying and selling on eBay, I’ve seen a lot, but this time eBay is in cahoots with the scammer. I sold a Sony a7 III digital camera kit with 24-70 zoom through a Buy It Now listing, so the payment comes in and I buy the shipping directly from eBay shipping, BRT express courier and insured, the package arrives in 5 days, and that’s where the anomalies start: the buyer opens a dispute for item not received, eBay contacts me for more information and I reply by uploading all the shipping documents provided by BRT, , eBay after 24 hours contacts me and says the dispute has been closed in my favor, so my account is unlocked, after a few days I am contacted again by eBay telling me that the dispute has been reopened by the buyer who in the meantime has appealed (without even any advance notice from eBay) ) and tells me that I had agreed to refund the buyer for the item not received.
I ask eBay customer service for explanations, and they advise me to open an appeal against their decision, so I proceed and upload the POD issued by eBay shipping,
After a few hours eBay contacts me again and tells me they cannot accept my POD because the decision has already been made.
I am losing a Sony a7 III full frame digital camera kit with 24-70 zoom, 50 euros in shipping + eBay fees. I have always been fair to buyers and sellers, I have accumulated 751 positive feedbacks at 100%, I do not understand how eBay can make decisions like this with all the documents, tracking and POD.
I turned to a consumer association and they were shocked by this decision, as they have been fighting scammers for years and the last thing we needed was for eBay to make itself complicit with absurd, baseless decisions

OP2 years agoIf I manage to keep the account, I’ll post updates on how this plays out

OP2 years agoI admit I panicked and got discouraged, in the end you were right, I’d also add that consumer associations definitely have more experience and already know how to proceed.

Mentore2 years agoExactly, you can also contact more than one, nothing stops you, there is no exclusivity right.

OP2 years agoFrom the first interview, it seems they know what they’re doing and they put me at ease.

Mentore2 years agoI told you so, they have lawyers who are prepared for the various issues, online and otherwise.

Didn't you say you had turned to a lawyer?

OP2 years agoYes, I initially turned to the lawyer, unfortunately during the consultation he made me understand that it wasn't his field, let me explain better, he wasn't knowledgeable about sales on eBay, so I contacted a consumer association.
